![]() Isn't the new strokes song kind of - umm - Dancing With Myself? #The strokes bad decisions how to#Not trying to shit on bad decisions bc I love it but it sounds like New Order doing a cover of dancing with myself and I don't know how to reconcile thatīad decisions sounds kinda like dancing with myself but im not mad about itīig "Dancing with Myself" vibes, I dig it. ![]() This is basically a "Dancing With Myself" sendup but it's also easily the most "classic era" sounding Strokes song they've put out since the classic era. Nice The Strokes have stolen Dancing with Myself by Billy Idol The Strokes' new album, The New Abnormal, arrives April 10 via Cult/ RCA Records. ![]() See some of the realizations and reactions below, then listen to both songs and hear the likeness for yourself. ![]() That didn't mean Twitter let the Strokes off the hook. So similar, in fact, that the band have recognized Billy Idol and co-writer Tony James with a songwriting credit. It's pretty undeniably similar when the Strokes' gets to the chorus, repeating "Oh, makin' bad decisions" to almost the exact same tune as the hook in the 1981 hit "Dancing with Myself." Check it out below.Published The Strokes unveiled their latest single "Bad Decisions" yesterday (February 18), and while many praised it for the band's return to their classic sound, many others noted that it sounded familiar in a different way - in the way that it sounds like Billy Idol's "Dancing with Myself." If “Bad Decisions” and its video are some kind of Jules piss-take on what people stereotypically want out of the Strokes, it’s still a damn good version of what people stereotypically want out of the Strokes. But then “Bad Decisions” kind of delivers on that, too. Given Casablancas’ more untethered endeavors with the Voidz, you could take it as a sort of meta-commentary on people always expecting a specific thing from this band. It’s a sort of spoof of retro infomercials, with the premise being you could buy a clone of the Strokes, particularly some uncanny echoes of the band in their earlier days. The song comes with a video directed by Andrew Donoho. (Though it’s Billy Idol who gets a co-writing credit, presumably for the similarity to the melody in “Dancing With Myself.”) (This was the same show at which the band unveiled their cover of Talking Heads’ “Burning Down The House” and where Casablancas sang “New York City Cops” into an actual cop’s face.) In many ways, “Bad Decisions” feels like a classic Strokes song - especially in the chorus melody - with a bit more New Order injected into the lead guitar riff. Some fans might already have come across “Bad Decisions” - the Strokes debuted it onstage last week, when they played a set at Bernie Sanders’ New Hampshire rally ahead of the primary. ![]() Taking to socials earlier today, the band announced that after all this time waiting, we’d get two new Strokes songs in quick succession, with another single called “Bad Decisions” arriving just a week after “At The Door.” And in every way the last one was pretty and enigmatic, this is just a straight-up Strokes banger. Well, it turns out that the Strokes had a nice one-two up their sleeve: Start with the weird new introduction, chase it with something a bit more quintessentially Strokes-esque. (We liked it, though, ranking it as our favorite song last week.) Either way, it was a bold call, kicking off the rollout for the first new Strokes album in seven years with something enticing and elusive more so than something immediate and triumphant. All moody and atmospheric, with no percussion and little guitar, many heard “At The Door” as more reminiscent of Julian Casablancas’ solo work than the Strokes. The announcement was accompanied by a new track called “ At The Door.” While it wasn’t the first preview we heard of The New Abnormal - the band had already debuted a handful of new songs live - it was certainly a striking statement of a lead single. Last week, the Strokes finally announced their long-awaited, long-teased new album The New Abnormal, their first since 2013’s Comedown Machine. ![]() ![]() ![]()

We have not identified any vulnerabilities in our products or cloud services."Įditor's Note: This story has been updated with Microsoft's statement. In response to the Malwarebytes intrusion, Microsoft said: "Our ongoing investigation of recent attacks has found this advanced and sophisticated threat actor had several techniques in their toolkit. The Kremlin has repeatedly denied any involvement. “There is much more yet to be discovered about this long and active campaign that has impacted so many high-profile targets,” Malwarebytes added.Īccording to US intelligence, the culprits behind the SolarWinds breach are likely hackers working from Russia. The intrusion at Malwarebytes underscores how the SolarWinds hackers were likely using a variety of vulnerabilities to spy on their victims, which include numerous US government agencies. SolarWinds Hack Drives New Growth in Corporate Cybersecurity Spending From there, they can authenticate using the key and make API calls to request emails via MSGraph (Microsoft Graph),” the company added. “In our particular instance, the threat actor added a self-signed certificate (Opens in a new window) with credentials to the service principal account. If you compromise an “Application Admin account” or “On-Premise Sync Account” with the service, you can gain additional privileges to a client’s Microsoft 365 applications, paving the way for backdoor access into a victim’s corporate IT systems. To pull off the intrusion, Malwarebytes says the hackers may have leveraged an alleged weakness in Microsoft's Azure Active Directory that security researcher Dirk-jan Mollema reported (Opens in a new window) in 2019. The tactics and techniques used during the intrusion were also consistent with the SolarWinds breach.įortunately, Malwarebytes never hooked up Microsoft’s Azure clouds service with Malwarebytes’ antivirus production environments. “The investigation indicates the attackers leveraged a dormant email protection product within our Office 365 tenant that allowed access to a limited subset of internal company emails,” Malwarebytes said. 15-the day after the SolarWinds hack became public-Microsoft told the antivirus provider it had noticed suspicious activity coming from a third-party application within Malwarebytes’ Office 365 system. “We can confirm the existence of another intrusion vector that works by abusing applications with privileged access to Microsoft Office 365 and Azure environments,” Malwarebytes said in a blog post (Opens in a new window) on Tuesday. Instead, the attackers exploited the company's accounts with Office 365 and Microsoft Azure. The intrusion didn’t occur through SolarWind’s IT software, which Malwarebytes doesn't use. The hackers behind the SolarWinds breach also infiltrated Malwarebytes, but they only managed to gain access to some internal emails, according to the antivirus provider’s investigation. ![]() ![]() He already stated in his AMA that he is adding more end game stuff. But at the same time, a lot of people take a lot longer to reach certain points than you seemed to (I've read many different people here saying they didn't have a coop, or complete any bundles when they were in fall or winter of year 1)Ĭonsidering all of that, I think ConcernedApe should work on making the end game much more sandbox-friendly. With that being said, I do agree some of the rewards seem frontloaded, or too late to be relevant. The purpose of the game at that point is mainly to redecorate your farm, finish achievements, and just generally collect stuff. And once you hit the end of year 2, it becomes much more sandboxy like you said. You don't even have to grow crops to make money and complete the game, if you don't want to. GAME PROGRESSIONS HIIDE FREEIt's not full-blown sandbox, but each day you are pretty much free to do what you want. The game kind of is a sandbox in a way though. These are just my 2 cents about reward/goal balance and how it affects early to late game gameplay.ĮDIT: Seems like the consensus is that I should just do less per day to drag the game out, as in no need to rush through the game. The problem is that the game itself is not a sandbox, so that becomes old fast too.Īnd yet, even after all of this I still play it, because I love early and mid game, so I just restart and replay. Late game loses the sense of achievement and people turn to redecorating the farm. My point is that some rewards come to late to be relevant some goals late game are meaningless for the non completionists among us other rewards are plain useless and finally, by end game, what started as a game of resource management (3-4 resources) became a matter skipping days for events to trigger while having infinite money + energy (food -> which implies that stardrops lose the value late game, and are almost unattainable early game when they would be useful and a great reward). At my version of endgame ( by SpringY2) I already am married, I got my barn and coop, I got lots of basic sprinklers producing more money I could use for anything useful, I cleared the community center (with some rng luck) and all that is left for me to do is to become an achievement hunter / completionist. to get irridium! but wait, why do I need irridium for? Oh FOR MY SPRINKLERS. Endgame leads to the most important unlock of all. why would I spend time going thru minerals in the river? Fishing also becomes next to pointless after the fish tank unlock, which on its own isnt that much valuable. Another less useful unlock is the rock on the caves. The pit regens so slowly that the cart and bridge unlock have almost no value at that point either. We wont be going back there for irridium, so that cart shortcut looses its value. But then why would you do that? carts become unlocked pretty much by the time the first cave is almost cleared. Finishing the first cave becomes a priority to unlock carts. Investing for the horse is great, diversification (not selling out in this scenario) becomes the key to unlock rewards in the CC (community center). Once we transition into mid game (summer/fall), where crops and 1/2 artisan workflows are up and running and money can be invested in 1 or 2 buildings, is where things start seeming odd. ![]() Love interests also add complexity trying to manage time and energy to court someone. Not much to complain here since the game develops into investing time and energy to build up money. it is therefore thrilling to make decisions and sacrifice one for the other. I am concerned about my experience of what are true goals from the non completionist point of view.Įarly game you manage 3 resources, Time, Energy and money. For thos types of players ANY type of arbitrary goal is valid, as long as the developer made it available, it is meant to be gotten and justifiable there. this is not the VIEWPOINT of an achievement hunter or completionist. But I feel that the game could use some balance in terms of goals and practical use of rewards during the different stages of the game. ![]() ![]() Property taxes are calculated by multiplying the assessed value of the property by the mill levy for the taxing area. I don’t think there was anything in the vaccine that caused the TGA, but the stress itself seems the most likely cause. You might well have been stressed when getting the vaccine - it is a perfectly understandable reaction. The authors felt the increase in stress in the community caused by social distancing and fear of the infection was the likely reason. A recent paper did note the increase in TGA during the COVID epidemic, but NOT due to COVID-19 infection. Numerous triggers have been identified for TGA, especially stress, physical exertion and contact with hot or cold water. Once a person recovers, there is usually permanent memory lapse for the event and shortly before it, but otherwise people recover fully over time. TGA is not a risk factor for stroke, unlike a transient ischemia attack. Prompt evaluation is indicated to be sure this isn’t anything more serious. It’s most common in middle aged and older adults.
